Timings & phases stages of website design
Phase 1 . DISCOVERY
Timing - 1 / 2 days
In the first stage, our Designers and Project Manager perform discovery to plan and inform the subsequent phases of the project. Areas include, but are not limited to:
- Identify demographics for targeting.
- Research the current website and the limitations/scope of design.
- Understand the tasks users will carry out on the site.
- Understand any marketing funnels and engagement statistics.
- Mapping of pages (sitemap & structure).
- Review content for pages where applicable.
- Identify demographics for targeting.
- Identify any value proposition. Analytics data – device statistics, mobile first design, etc.
- Create a redirect policy.
- Analyse user behaviours.
- SEO initial review.
Phase 2. Wireframing
Timing - 3 / 5 days
Preliminary to prototyping the designs, we prepare wireframes for all page layouts to assess the practicability of the suggested structure and functionality of the future site.
The purpose of the wireframe is to get a visual grasp of all pages of the site before the start of the creative process.
Phase 3. Design
Timing - 5 days - 2 weeks
Once the wireframes are approved, we proceed with a design prototype in Photoshop, working on the look and the filling of the website anchored to the gathered information.
The first step of the phase is creating the homepage of the future website which will then become the design basis for the remaining subpages. These, in their turn, are presented with the help of the Invision system which enables our clients to leave comments on each step of the process.
Phase 4. Development
Timing - 5 days - 2 weeks
The focus of this phase is to prepare the real digital version of the site with all the graphic elements made functional.
Comparable to the design stage, we firstly develop the homepage which then determines the look and the filling of the subpages.
After we finish with the front end of the site, the back end is coded onto the CMS, and only then the content of the site is loaded.
Phase 5. Testing
Timing - 1 / 2 days
When the client is content with the website, we start the testing phase.
During the aforementioned phase we carry out a thorough assessment and check if the website operates flawlessly on all types of devices, review GDPR compliance as well as implementation of all the necessary privacy and cookie policies.
Once the testing phase is complete, the website is launched.
